How Good should a Selenium Coding Solution be?
Many testers claim in their resumes having Selenium test automation skills and expertise.
But few have these things for real.
Some mention Selenium in the resume because it was their responsibility to run the Selenium tests and look at the results. But they did not write any code.
Others took online courses on Selenium but have little experience with it.
Or they add Selenium in the resume so that the resume keyword searches of companies and recruiters do not ignore their application.
The belief is that adding Selenium skills and experience to the resume may help the resume to be shortlisted.
Once shortlisted, maybe they get lucky in the interview and get the job. And then learn programming and test automation on the job.
Getting lucky is rare.
If it happens, it will not be long until the company understands that the hiring was a mistake because the new employee cannot do the work.
Getting lucky is not the way.
Having luck works much better.
